Red Butte Garden is not the usual fall colors destination. Here there is much more than autumn leaves: flowers, blooming shrubs and even blooming trees. Guided hikes, or for the less ambitious, guided tours are available through the month of October.

Just south of the University of Utah overlooking Salt Lake City, take exit 310 of I-15. Turn left at the exit and go two blocks to 400 South (that's the name of the street). Turn right and follow 400 South (following the signs to the U of Utah). 400 South does a little jig and becomes 500 South. Just after ytou pass the VA Hospital (it will be on your right) you should see the sign for Red Butte Garden. Turn left onto Wakara Way (you will now be entering 'Research Park') and follow the signs to the Garden at the top of the hill.
