From Cookeville (and
folks coming from the west on I-40), take exit 287 (Hwy-111) and head south,
through Spencer, to Hwy-284. Turn left and in a few moments you'll enter the
Park.
For folks coming from
the east on I-40, take exit 347, head south on US-27 to Hwy-111 (about 10
miles south of Dayton. (This is where the 4-lane becomes controlled access
freeway.) Turn right onto Hwy-111 and follow it all the way back to I-40 at
exit 287. This is a long loop but you will have great views of the fall colors
all the way.
Folks coming up from
the Chattanooga area should take the US-27 freeway to the exit after the
Soddy-Daisy exit and turn left on Hwy-111. Then enjoy a leisurely drive with
splendid views of the fall colors along this beautiful road.
About 18 miles north
of the US-127 intersection is Hwy-284 which is the entrance to Fall
Creek Falls State Park.
Every October, usually
about the third weekend, the folks in Pikeville put on the Mountain Folk
Festival in the Park. It just so happens
that the Park is a favorite destination for area leaf lookers. You just might
like stopping in. Think you'll be glad you did.
Most accommodations
in area hotels and motels are 'booked
up' during the leaf season. If you haven't made your hotel/motel reservations yet we
have included access to an on-line reservation system for your convenience.
Hotel
reservations are available, usually at a discount,
