LEAF-LOOKERS Guide

US-25
Travelers Rest SC to Hendersonville NC
Leaf-Lookers Guide

One of the most beautiful autumn leaves viewing drives you'll ever see (opinion ! ) is the drive on US-25 from Travelers Rest SC up the mountain to Hendersonville NC about 1 to 2 hours before sunset. Timing is important. The leaves on the south side of the Blue Ridge here turn much later than in North Carolina (where most people go) - typically late October. And there are other advantages to both the location and the timing. Once you pass SC-11 you are on freeway all the way up the mountain. Second, when you get to Hendersonville you can eat in any one of a number of very good restaurants. You could spend the night there and, the next morning, be in an ideal location to drive out to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock or head west on US-64.

Most accommodations are 'booked up' during the leaf season. If you haven't made your motel reservations yet we have included an on-line reservation system for your convenience.

Hotel reservations are available, usually at a discount,
