Allegheny National Forest is known for its lush hardwoods. Each autumn these hardwoods produce colorful displays of fall foliage. There are a few roads through the park for visitors wishing to remain in their cars. The many trails, however, provide an excellent opportunity to not only see the autumn leaves on display but to smell the unique scents of autumn.
