LEAF-LOOKERS Guide

Autumn Leaves will soon be here!

Blue Ridge Parkway

falltree.gif (27800 bytes) The American Blue Ridge Parkway, shepherded by the US National Park Service, is probably the most famous road in current use in the world.  Flirting with the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it leads the motorist in a southwesterly direction from Virginia to its termination west of Waynesville NC in the Great Smoky Mountains.  And it is quite a road.  Here is a favorite vantage point to view the autumn leaves.  From the scenic turnouts you can see from the peaks to the valley floors.  You can watch the march of color as it works its way down the mountainsides as the season progresses.
Most lodgings near the Parkway are booked during the 'leaf season'.  If you haven't made your reservations yet we have included an on-line reservation system for your convenience. Listings are for accommodations near the Parkway (listed by Blue Ridge Parkway mile posts). VIEW ACCOMMODATIONS DIRECTORY
