LEAF-LOOKERS Guide

Leaf-Lookers Guide

The Mountain Parkway is always beautiful but it really glows in October. Clay County's rugged beauty is especially attractive during the fall color season, especially the vistas around the Red Bird River.

From I-64, take exit 98. When you exit the Daniel Boone National Forest the next exit is #43. Here you can turn around, - or take Hwy 15 south to Combs where you can get on the Daniel Boone Parkway. This will carry you through more beautiful vistas. Your tour will terminate at I-75 exit 41 from which you can easily return to Lexington (or head south if that is your plan).

About 2½ miles from exit 33 of the Mountain Parkway is Kentucky's Natural Bridge Resort Park. The bridge is accessible via a trail or a sky lift. Though you may enjoy walking, we recommend the sky lift, - the view is awesome! There are many other worth while attractions at the park - and plenty of trails so you can still do your walking.

Most accommodations are 'booked up' during the leaf season. If you haven't made your hotel/motel reservations yet we have included access to an on-line reservation system for your convenience.

Hotel reservations, frequently at discount, are
