Autumn colors in Kentucky start appearing around the end of September and continue through October into November. Kentucky is fortunate to have this special spot, made famous over two-hundred years ago by our hardy pioneers using this natural cleavage in the Appalachian Mountains to access the new, unexplored, western lands of Kentucky.

Cumberland Gap Historic National Park is very popular with leaf lookers. It is best seen, however, by those who can hike the easy trails provided. There are also several organized tours for hikers.
