Rocky Mountain National Park is a little more than 60 miles north of Denver. 

Take the US-36 freeway north out of Denver to Lafayette where it become two-lane. Continue on US-36 to Estes Park and the junction with US-34. Continue on US-34 into the National Park and over the Continental Divide. We suggest you spend the night at the Bighorn Lodge in Grand Lake. Watch the sunset turn the aspen leaves into a yellow fire - and then, again, after sunrise the next morning. Let the scent of autumn permeate through you in the evening and just be thrilled to be alive an in America.

From Grand Lake, continue south on US-34 to Granby and the intersection of US-40. Turn left onto 40 and follow it all the way to I-70 exit 232.
