From Boulder, follow US-36 north to Lyons. Turn left on Hwy-7 and follow it about 14 miles to the junction of Hwy-72 (to Ward and Nederland). Turn left on 72 and continue your tour to Nederland and Hwy-119. Enjoy the splendid views of the fall colors on the slopes of the mountains on your right. The autumn leaves, here, especially just after dawn when the sun enhances the golden glow of the leaves with its own, are as beautiful as anywhere in Colorado.

At Nederland, turn left on 119 and follow it to Boulder and the US-36 freeway to Denver.
