Arizona's Coconino National Forest is a very popular destination for Arizona leaf-lookers. The season for autumn leaves starts early, usually mid September, and the roads and other byways get very crowded. The Aspens start the symphony of color up on the higher slopes. Then, as the calendar progresses, the gold of the Aspens is gradually replaced lower down by the brilliant crimson of the sumacs and maples.

at the Eastern end of the 87-260-377 loop (Winslow, along the Mogollon Rim, to Holbrook)
Sedona
at the mid-point of the 89-A Scenic Route (Flagstaff to Cottonwood) and Southern end of Oak Creek Canyon
Showlow
at the Northern end of the US-60 scenic highway with its great views of the Superstition and Apache Mountains
Snowflake
near the Northern end of the US-60 scenic highway with its great views of the Superstition and Apache Mountains
Williams
30 miles west ot Flagstaff of I-40 and at the Southern end of the US-180 access road to Grand Canyon South Rim
Winslow
57 miles east of Flagstaff on I-40 and at the Western end of the 87-260-377 loop (Winslow, along the Mogollon Rim, to Holbrook)
